Stress Management Techniques.

Main cause of stress.

Stress is an epidemic. High blood pressure, heart attacks, strokes, anxiety, panic and many other problems exist today because of the way we fail to manage it.

It is scientifically estimated that unmanaged mental and emotional strain can reduce our life span by upwards of twenty years. The good news is that we can gain back these years with effective control measures -true relaxation, meditation, hypnosis, biofeedback, and even exercise.

We can justify the type of person that we are, type A, type B, high-strung, low-key, shy, etc. The truth is that we are not meant to be any of these. That is, with a perfect brain you would, more or less, be 'normal'. You would have appropriate behaviour for the situation that you happen to find yourself in. A stressed life throws your brain out of whack. This causes inappropriate behaviour.

If you or I were to define normal in the sense of brain based behavior, normal is probably not what most of us are. Pretty much though, 'normal' is a balanced brain or state of mind. In other words, balance is the key -give your brain the proper care and attention.

Do you know people that behave inappropriately? Normal, sane people are calm and relaxed. They are able to handle trying times and good times in stride. Irrational, and in some cases outright nutty people are tending to be the 'norm' but are not 'normal'.

In fact it's got to the point in society that we are labeling odd, quirky behaviour as normal. How many times have you heard people say 'that's just ___________ '(fill in their name here). 'He/she is just emotional.' Or, 'they wear their heart on their sleeve.' Or, 'they're just cold, introverted, extroverted, possessive, jealous, etc, etc.'

Anxiety management stress.

Take a look at all the famous people, for example, that have lost control. Mental and emotional strain in their lives has driven them beyond normal. This happens to all of society.

Suffice it to say that a strained life travels deep. It ruins and ultimately destroys your life, one way or another.

When you learn to relax and take a little time to do so. You will live a better, longer life.
