Mental Clarity Personal Development Plan
What is brain fog?
Mental clarity is yours if you want it. I had brain fog and was sure that I was condemned to a life of misery. I followed the steps below, with success, and have achieved clarity!
Brain fog is a condition that makes you feel like your brain's neurons are not cooperating. And they're not. There are billions of those little suckers and they need your care and attention. Don't let them down.
Self Improvement Ideas.
Think of it this way. You are a temple. A temple of mind and body. Your brain is the inner sanctum. You will be at your best if you feed and nourish it.
1) Supplements:
Find the
supplement
for you. Try a product for an extended period of time before deciding if it is for you or not. (Even some prescribed drugs don't begin to work until taken for a few weeks.)
Phosphatidylserine, Ginkgo biloba, Coenzyme-Q-10 are just some of the very good products for promoting good mental clarity and removing brain fog.
Be careful, though, if you are taking prescribed medication. When purchasing the product the health food store manager can provide you with good information and advice. Always consult your health care practitioner before starting supplements especially if you are on medication.
2) Healthy Foods
Healthy foods are so important. They provide us with the nutrients that enhance our brain function. Incorporate these
foods
into your diet for improved mental clarity. Blueberries are an awesome, great tasting food. It is a fantastic antioxidant and great for your brain. Green leafy vegetables like spinach should be eaten regularly. Of course, wild salmon, and tuna are super foods. The omega-3 fatty acids in these foods are great. Even canned salmon and tuna are good for mental clarity.
The idea here is to eat like our distant ancestors. This is well before refined foods and fast food restaurants.
The theory goes like this: We were nomadic, tribal people that foraged for food and other things that would sustain life. Basically, we'd eat a lot of fresh berries. This is why berries, especially blue and black berries are so good for us. We'd also eat other fresh fruit, vegetables, and roots. This is why such foods are so good for us. From time to time, we'd catch and eat certain animals and game birds. Thus, lean meat and game birds to this day are still good for us.
Basically, our brain and body was, and still is, nourished by the foods that our brain and body evolved on. The more our brain capacity evolved the more technology advanced, the more complex our society and culture became.
Now fast forward to the modern world. Fast food is everywhere. We lead very busy and hectic lives. We don't eat the food we were designed to eat. No wonder we don't feel so good and have poor mental clarity. It is all very simple and even simpler to correct. Let's get back to basics. Start eating good, healthy foods today.
3) Thoughts Cause Reactions -Change Your Thoughts:
Consciously make a decision to change your thoughts. This step is number three because a good supplement and eating good foods actually help you to change your thoughts. They do this by assisting neurotransmitters.
Make the best of whatever the situation you happen to be in at any given time. If you don't like the way things are then take action. Use positive, rational, and logical thoughts to change your life. Over time your brain and body will react nicely to these thoughts.
Tell yourself good things whenever you get the chance, and give yourself a chance. Don't expect changes overnight, if you get quick results then great. Just remember that change happens over time, especially internal thoughts and feelings. Thoughts and feelings can change quickly, generally, though, things take time.
Humans are not really designed for speed. It has taken eons for our bodies to evolve and genetically change to our environment. If we fly overseas, for example, we experience jet leg. This is because our bodies can't handle the quick time changes. It stresses us. If we could then we wouldn't be affected with jet leg when flying long distances.
Our brains are so amazing, though, that they conceive of fantastic ideas. These ideas have profound, and many times, stressful affects on us. Namely the speed at which modern society demands that things get done.
If we slow down and take it easy we'd be better off. Many cultures around the planet live simpler, happier lives because of this. Try
relaxation techniques
to help calm your mind and release stress. This will also improve mental clarity.
4) Exercise:
Say what? Exercise? Okay, hold on. Exercise can be fun, and relatively easy. A great way to increase mental clarity. The idea is to get your blood pumping a little bit more than normal. This keeps your body healthy and improves mental clarity for a number of reasons.
One of them is that blood gets to where it should be. For example, to the extremities of your brain and body. Tiny capillaries are kept alive with nourishing blood. And, it's that pumping action that keeps your blood moving into the extremities. This means that those parts of your brain and body live. Cells die without good blood supply. So, you want to ensure cellular life by getting some exercise.
The nice thing with exercise is that it doesn't have to be over strenuous. Walking is probably one of the best forms of exercise for us. So go for long, wonderful walks. Get the idea, some other great exercises are golf, bowling, and table tennis.
All of these have the added benefit of using your brain's cognitive capacity. In other words, you increase brain power by thinking and challenging your mental limits.
Stay away from hard hitting sports that may cause head trauma. This is what you want to avoid. Head trauma, even minor trauma, may lead to mental function problems.
Mind and body are sure to improve if you take action now!
5) Sleep:
For good brain health get the proper rest that you need. This is essential. Your brain restores itself during sleep. It's important, though, to get good rest. Sometimes we don't get good rest.
I forced myself to get a full nights sleep every night. It took a while and a lot of discipline. At first it was difficult. My brain would not want to cooperate. Soon, though, it became habit and I feel a lot better for it.
Drinking alcohol is not a good way to get good rest. It may initially lead to sleep but when it wears off you'll likely wake up. Or, your sleep will be shallow. You'll wake up not feeling rested. Alcohol disturbs brain waves.
In order to get good, restful sleep live like our distant ancestors. The theory here is the same as it is with diet, and exercise. Basically, when it got dark we went to sleep. When the sun woke us up in the morning we'd continue our quest for sustaining and enjoying life. Thus, with good nourishing foods in our belly and a restful nights sleep we feel and behave much better. Our mental clarity and brain function improves.
Try to get into a rhythm of at least eight hours sleep. Some people require a little less. Some people require more. Make it a habit to go to bed at the same time and to wake at approximately the same time each day. All similar to our distant ancestors' habits'.
To aid in a good nights sleep check out brain supplements.
6) Take Action and Succeed:
Take action. You will feel better for it. Do what you know is good for you. You will have success in life when you continuously take action. Apply the steps above and remember, when you make a mistake use it as a learning experience.
