Questions about traumatic brain injury.

Brain injury is serious. Even minor head trauma can cause serious conditions. There are reports of people that have had seemingly minor head 'bumps' and have experienced a drastic change in personality, and emotional problems.

The brain is extremely soft and fragile. Its consistency is such that it is very moldable. Your brain is protected by your hard, bony skull. This is good, but if your skull is bumped hard enough then damage can occur. Unconsciousness does not have to happen.

The brain sits in cerebrospinal fluid. This clear watery liquid bathes and protects the brain. This fluid provides protection, in addition to the skull, as a sort of shock absorber. Still, injury can occur. This is why you should protect yourself at all times.

Take safety seriously. Wear your seatbelts, drive safely, work safely, and play safely. Take up sports and exercise where there's less chance of brain damage. Teach children the same. Always wear a helmet when bicycling, skating, or during any activity that may result in a brain bump.

Brain injury also results when damage occurs due to a stroke or anoxic brain damage. An aneurysm may rupture causing brain tissue damage. During anoxic brain damage your brain loses its vital supply of oxygen. This may occur if poisoned. Some gases, like carbon monoxide, prevent the brain from using oxygen. This ultimately causes tissue damage and brain death.

Improving brain power is possible.

A concussion is a serious brain injury. Multple concussions can cause permanent damage.

Brain injuries may result in depression, anxiety, marital conflicts, emotional disturbances, cognitive problems, underachievment, you name it. Remember, your brain is the inner sanctum of mind and body. Protect it well, nourish it with good foods and supplements.

If you have some sort of brain related problem it may be well worth the effort to recall if you have ever bumped your head. This may be the cause, or at least contributory to your concerns.

It is important to eat good foods, and take brain supplements. Get good medical advice if required or if things don't seem right. Don't give up your quest for good health. Your brain and body deserve it.
