Brain Aneurysm:

A brain aneurysm is an abnormal bulge in an artery of the brain. They are often discovered when they rupture. If they do rupture they bleed into the brain causing damage. This can lead to a stroke.

Unruptured bulges are sometimes treated to prevent future problems.

Please click the image of Dr. Jill Bolte Taylor for her amazing, inspirational talk on the brain. Dr. Taylor experienced a stroke. She lived and ultimately recovered to talk about the amazing experience she had during the stroke. Truly remarkable.

Dr. Taylor is a trained and published neuroanatomist. She specializes in the investigation of the human brain. She has a brother who has the brain disorder schizophrenia.

Dr. Taylor teaches people about the brain, how it organizes information, how scientists talk about it and study it, how it grows and when there is a problem what is going on inside.

She shares that while it is true we all need coping skills, the first stage to coping is compassion. When people are enlightened and understand what is actually going on in the brain, we are more open minded and compassionate to understanding strange or "different" behavior. Coping skills make us more tolerant and education makes us more compassionate.
