The Biggest Causes of Stress
The biggest causes of stress and the ultimate answer to resolving stress begins and ends at the same place.
You, that's right, you.
Now that that's out of the way, I have to apologize. This page is a little long but please read all of it. The reason is that stress has gripped our world. And we could all do with a little less of it.
It's true that many aspects of life could be considered the biggest causes of stress in your life. Some of these may include finances, job, spouse, friends, ex-friends, getting married, getting divorced, your boss, dealing with people, etc.
The secret, though, is how you handle it and that’s up to you. Believe it or not, you're way ahead if you even recognize the signs and symptoms of stress. Many people don't know the symptoms until a lot of damage has occurred.
You may not believe this right now, but the biggest causes of stress are self generated. You may think stresses are external and yes there are external triggers. But, it's all in the way you react to the triggers. Would it be easier to change yourself or change everyone and everything else? Why not give this a try and the biggest causes of stress will seem small and distant with practice.
Stress Exhaustion
If you experience stress, and you recognize the various possible symptoms -headaches, nervous sweating, hives, inability to focus or concentrate, short tempered, not happy with your current situation, etc., then you are on your way to feeling better.
Some of us don't recognize that stress has gripped our mind and body. The effects slowly creep up on us. Our lives may begin to unravel. Our lives are affected and we are not completely aware of what's happening.
If you feel stress exhaustion has its grip on you then take action. It takes time and consistent practice. Remember, the biggest causes of stress begins and ends with us. We choose our environment, job, relaxation activities, relationships, etc.
If left uncontrolled stress will cause anxiety, depression, and many other physiological and psychological ill effects.
Pain and Stress Reduction
The simple method to conquer stress: Think of yourself as a temple of mind and body. Why shouldn't you? You are important and deserve to think highly of yourself.
The inner sanctum of this temple is your brain. That's right, your brain. Your brain signals the stress response.
Now, the critical step to feeling better is to stop the stress response before it even happens. Start by raising your esteem. You see, the more you react to certain stressful events, the more you'll be stressed.
Stop reacting to the stress triggers!
How is this accomplished? Easy! Create balance in your life. Your brain, is awesome and ever-changing. It controls everything you do and feel. The biggest causes of stress in your life is how you perceive the various events of life. This is why stress begins and ends with you.
If your brain perceives something or someone in a particular way it will tell you so. If it thinks it has to protect you, or get you out of a situation, or away from something then it will. It does this by creating any number of feelings, sensations, physical symptoms, etc. to let you know. It then expects you to remove yourself from that situation. Thus, removing yourself, then relieving the symptoms of being in that situation as the perceived danger will have passed.
Further, your brain will store these events and retrieve them at later dates when the same or similar situations occur. Remember, it does this because it is attempting to protect you.
What you need to do is to begin to consciously recognize that not all of these situations are as dangerous, or for that matter, worth getting stressed out over, as your brain is leading you to believe. Begin thinking of the situation as uncomfortable rather then dangerous.
Stay with it. Eventually, over time and numerous similar situations, your brain neurons will change. You will no longer experience such extreme stress. Basically, you are training your brain.
If you were attacked by a wild animal, or you sense something is wrong in a certain situation such as a home intruder, or you're about to be mugged, then you will want to react to the situation accordingly. These situations would be the biggest causes of stress and you would have to react immediately. This is where your brain and the brain produced stress symptoms will help or even save your life. This is where you trust your brain or your instincts.
During normal modern day events or situations you will want to learn, or teach yourself that most events and situations are safe. Especially if you tend to overreact to stressors.
One of the best ways to do this is to use
brain enhancing supplements.
The reasons are at least two fold. One, the physical damage caused at the cellular level by stress is limited and even repaired completely with good supplements. Two, the proper supplements for you can actually change the way you perceive stress. GABA is one example of this.
A third advantage to supplements are that they assist your entire body. Now, you don't want to be a supplement junkie, but you may want to give it a try. Remember to give it a proper trial period. Also, pick supplements that have no allergenic ingredients such as wheat, gluten, soy, etc. Most ingredients are list on the label.

Creating balance is one key to stress reduction. The reason is that if you overwork, overplay, overeat, or do anything to the extreme you will feel the stress of the event. It's how your brain works. There's no getting around this.
To create balance all you need to do is to think in moderation. In other words, whatever you do, do it with a sense of reasonableness. One piece of chocolate cake won't hurt you. Several pieces at one sitting isn't good for you. Working extremely long hours for weeks or months isn't good for you. Working reasonable hours is good for you.
A thought on work. If you are uncomfortable at work, but are okay during social situations you may be in the wrong line of work. Your brain may be telling you that this is not what it wants to do. Try as you may to get comfortable. If it just doesn't happen you may want to pursue a vocation that suits your current personality.
Back to balance. Remember, you are a temple -mind and body, and your brain is the inner sanctum. Treat your temple with the highest good. Nourish it with good wholesome foods, take supplements to give yourself the edge in life, instead of being on edge. Exercise regularly, but in moderation. Rest regularly. This means get a good night's sleep. Meditate, use self hypnosis, biofeedback, and other relaxation techniques.
Do something you really enjoy doing. Take up a hobby, play games -crosswords and other word games. Bowl, golf, or go for long walks.
Rest your mind for a few minutes everyday. Once a week take an entire day to do something you really enjoy. Once a month take the entire weekend off. Every year, or better yet, every six months, take a vacation. Go somewhere, or do something where your sole purpose is to rejuvenate.
Good luck to you. I hope you eliminate the biggest causes of stress in your life. You'll feel a lot better for it.
